Quick Breakdown
Saskatchewan does not provide direct funding to home educators.Common Questions
Do I need to follow the Saskatchewan curriculum exactly?
No. Your plan must address the four subject areas and align with the broad Goals of Education for Saskatchewan, but you have flexibility in content and methods.
Can I use online curriculum?
Yes. Many families use online programs, workbooks, or a mix. Your Written Education Plan should describe your approach; you keep records and report annually.
What if I start mid-year?
Submit your notice at least 30 days before you begin. Your school division will confirm registration within 30 days.
Do I need to be a certified teacher?
No. Parental certification is not required in Saskatchewan.
